Billboard.com

The website I visited was Billboard.com. The purpose of this site is to bring us all the up to date information on the music industry. This sight is put up by Nielsen Business Media Inc, and I believe that it is put up for those people looking into what is happening in the music industry. I think that it is probably more set up for those people who are teens and twenties. Although it is probably focused towards the fore said age groups I believe that this site is maneuverable for almost anyone who happens to stumble across the page. Not only does this sight keep us up to date on what the top songs are in the country they also have other pages designated to videos, music, interviews, and reviews of recent music just to name a few. The site is very relaxed in nature it is easy to look at and doesn’t have a lot of reading involved. All of the links are very self explanatory and to the point . I believe that the main rhetorical appeal is pathos being that most visitors are of a younger age it is very appealing with the videos and all of the today style of music.

Mother Tongue

The story “Mother Tongue” by Amy Tan was a good story which i believe is about how she always will write for her mother. The purpose for this is because she had two ways of speaking, broken English and proper English. When she would be speaking to a group she would use proper English and when speaking to her mother and husband it would be broken English. She figured that this made her broken speech the intimate speech. I also believe that she wrote for other immigrants who have broken speech. Letting them know that they should never be ashamed of how the talk. It is a way of defining yourself and who you are.

What Blogging Is To Me

I believe that a blog should be a place for you to speak your feelings about any topic, be it sports, your day, or a political stance you may have. I don’t think that you should be able to post any sort of hate or violence towards another. Blogs should have a personal feel to them, they don’t need to be strict and to the point, sure some of your posts can be important and informative but I think you should be able to relax and have fun with blogging. Personalize your page it helps people know you, not personally, but they can figure out what you like and what kind of a person you are by what you post and how you make your page.
I also think that blogs are good for you to be able to voice your opinion to others by posting on what they have said. As the report said many debates start on blog pages. Join in, take part, have fun voicing your opinion to others. Of course as above don’t use vulgarity unless its in context, and be courteous but be strong on your opinion.
I’m new to blogging but I think its going to be interesting being able to post about what I want as well as for the class. I’m going to take this as a new learning experience and try to make the best of it.

Favorite Song

"Devil's Dance Floor"
By Flogging Molly

Her breath began to speak
As she stood right in front of me
The colour of her eyes
Were the colour of insanity
Crushed beneath her wave
Like a ship, I could not reach her shore
We're all just dancers on the Devil's Dance Floor

Well swing a little more, little more o'er the merry-o
Swing a little more, a little more next to me
Swing a little more, little more o'er the merry-o
Swing a little more, on the Devil's Dance Floor

Pressed against her face
I could feel her insecurity
Her mother'd been a drunk
And her father was obscurity
But nothin' ever came
From a life that was a simple one
So pull yourself together girl
And have a little fun
Well she took me by the hand
I could see she was a fiery one
Her legs ran all the way
Up to heaven and past Avalon
Tell me somethin' girl, what it is you have in store
She said come with me now
On the Devil's Dance Floor

Well swing a little more, little more o'er the merry-o
Swing a little more, a little more next to me
Swing a little more, little more o'er the merry-o
Swing a little more, on the Devil's Dance Floor
Swing a little more, on the Devil's Dance Floor

Well swing a little more, little more o'er the merry-o
Swing a little more, a little more next to me
Swing a little more, little more o'er the merry-o
Swing a little more, on the Devil's Dance Floor

The apple now is sweet
Oh much sweeter than it ought to be
Another little bite I don't think there is much hope for me
The sweat beneath her brow
Travels all the way An' headin' south
This bleedin' heart's cryin'
Cause there's no way out

Well swing a little more, little more o'er the merry-o
Swing a little more, a little more next to me
Swing a little more, little more o'er the merry-o
Swing a little more, on the Devil's Dance Floor

Well swing a little more, little more o'er the merry-o
Swing a little more, a little more next to me
Swing a little more, little more o'er the merry-o
Swing a little more, on the Devil's Dance Floor

Swing a little more, on the Devil's Dance Floor
Swing a little more, on the Devil's Dance Floor
